Posted by James Joell-Ireland On October - 20 - 2009

Wondering what we’ll be playing at the MCM Expo? Well hopefully we’ll be battling it out with a few Mechanoids! Japanese Wiiware title Overturn: Mecha Wars will finally be making its way to the UK and gamers at the MCM Expo at London this weekend will get to sample the robot and cause havoc with 19 weapons on their opponents. Any fans of any Mech based title should certainly keep this on their radar, expect a hands on review when we get back next week! See below for full press release.

LUTON, ENGLAND (October 20th, 2009) – GAMEBRIDGE Ltd., today announce that Overturn: Mecha Wars, Studio Zan’s much anticipated mech title, will be shown to the public for the very first time in Europe at the London MCM Expo. The expo will take place between 24-25th October at the ExCeL Centre, London

As announced and showcased to the selected few press and media at the Nintendo WiiWare summit (Frankfurt, Germany) in spring this year Overturn: Mecha Wars is a tournament based mech game where two challengers go head to head. Tournament consists of 6 classes: Rookie, Novice, Elite, Ace, Grand and Master classes.

Games take place within closed battle fields with the contestants controlling futurist machines that are equipped with a host of high tech weapons. The aim of the game is to blast your opponent using the 19 available weapons, while trying to avoid their incoming attacks, aiming to be the last one standing.

. Go head to head in a closed arena in a fire fight to the end, letting lose a barrage of attacks from a range of futuristic weapons.

. Customise each of the eight machines with weapons of your choice and by also changing the colours of each part, ready to take on the next challenger.

Go head to head with a friend locally (split screen) or via Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection (2-4 players) to face off against the best players in the worl

. Join the world rankings to see how you stack up against the best.

We hope this game will give a boost to not only Mecha fans out there but also to the WiiWare audience” says Logan Gunasingham, Gamebridge’s Product Manager

Players at the expo will get the chance to experience the game in its full glory, including the use of the Wii Balance board™ for a unique Wiiware experience.

“We’re very pleased that European Wii gamers will finally be able to experience Overturn Mecha Wars. The staff at Studio Zan regularly plays online and we look forward to going up against the players in Europe” enthused Makoto Sunaga, CEO of Studio Zan.
