O-Games GM Fires Pop Shot at Polyphony Digital

No sooner does our Superstars V8 Racing review land that Greg Lanz, GM at O-Games fired a pop shot at Gran Turismo Polyphony Digital developer for its continual delay of release surrounding the racing simulator on the Playstation 3. Clearly a publicity PR press release Lanz stated;

“Was it our game that scared Gran Turismo 5 into yet another release date delay? Probably not. But given our BIG list of features for such a small price without the need to leave the comfort of your own home, we’d like to think so,” says Greg Lanz, General Manager of O-Games, Inc. “Who really knows when Gran Turismo 5 will launch? We sure don’t. What we do know is that Superstars V8 Racing is finally here on PlayStation Network. In the race to provide driving fans a fast and intense wheel-gripping experience around the track, it looks like our game has taken the checkered flag!”

Superstars V8 Racing released in North America and our very own Craig Baker chastised the game for failing to beat many racers released in the last three years, including Forza 2. Was this press release a wise move? Perhaps if the game was substantially good, but Superstars V8 racing maybe should have taken a leaf out of Polyphony Digital’s book by delaying the North American release by refining the game so it is more than desperately mediocre.

    wow…too funny. that guy must have a pair the size of grape fruits to try and compare that 1.5gb pile of shit to gran turismo 5. I would rather hve another run at GT2 than ever play Superstars V8 “Racing”…if thats what they call it.
